Post subject:  New problem with screen resolution(not on the boards yet)

So, I am getting this problem.

No matter what I set the game to I can only see what is in the red box in the picture provided.

Now, I think it might be a windows 7 problem, because here how things went.

I have always been playing CC with these settings:
Code:
Settings
   ResolutionX = 640
   ResolutionY = 480
   Fullscreen = 1
   NxWindowed = 2

But now that I have windows 7, these settings make the game too small and mishapen. It makes the game only 3/5 as wide as my monitor and everything looks squished.

So I upped the resolution to 720x480, but now I get the problem I described. I can only see as much as inside the red square in that picture.

720x480 is perfect, the way it looks and feels is exactly like what it used to be, but only when playing in full screen(which is how I like to play it). But when I play in full screen, I get the previously mentioned problem. So how can I fix it? It's just zoomed in too much.

do you have a new monitor?
Try setting resolution to the monitor's resolution.
Also sometime you have to go to properties and set it to compatible with (resolution) resolution
Our tv has this problem but, it's a tv hard to fix.
Anyways good luck.

It's not W7, because it works fine for me.

My monitor's resolution is 1680x1050...

Everything is microscopic if I set it to that.

Go to the properties of what?

I was just playing around with my monitor resolution, and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the game.

No matter what my desktop resolution is, it has no effect on how the game looks.

Is there an aspect ratio setting?
Look for one and fiddle with it.

Yeah, I looked around in the settings and changed anything that could make a difference to a higher value to see if it would make a difference. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do, which sucks because the game isn't enjoyable how it is.
