How can I include mods?
Hello there!
I'd like to include mods in the index.ini file in base.rte so that I can use it in the scenes editor. Now few mods (for example combat modules) work by using includefile = ..../index.ini. Most other mods crash the game when I try to include them in my index.
Can someone give me a hint what else I have to put in the index.ini to get it to work? I wanted to include, for an example, the Oil Faction.rte mod but including just the index.ini is not enough.
Thanks for your help.

Re: How can I include mods?
You don't have to include mods into Base.rte/Index.ini for them to work. Just paste the .rte folder into the Cortex Command folder.

I'd like to use them in the scenes editor. Should have written that in my first post. Sorry

Re: How can I include mods?
Are you removing the "Datamodule" line and a single layer worth of tags from the other mods? The I in Includefile in the other mods' Index.ini s should be level with the left side of the page and the DataModule line should either be removed or have "//" added at the start.

Re: How can I include mods?
Thanks! I tried it with the oil faction mod. I // the datamodule and it loads fine until the material.ini. After that it tells me "Could not match property in Oil Faction.rte/Mat.ini at line 1!" I'm not quite sure what this means.. Line 1 of the mat.ini is: "AddMaterial = Material" Thanks for your help so far

Oil Faction, Hmm?
Sadly most of all of the Oil Faction is corrupt and broken. Whatever problem you're having with that is probably my fault, if you upload it I could take a look at it, see if I can fix it.

@CrazyMLC Did you make the Oil Faction mod? If so: Well done! It's one of my favorite mods, alongside DSTech!
And thanks a lot for having a look at it! I added the Oil Faction as a .rar file.

Re: How can I include mods?
So, I had a look at it, and I think it was the case of the corrupt file. (Ugh.) But, luckily, sometimes zipping and unzipping a file fixes it. You fixed the problem for yourself! I'd fix it by deleting the old folder, downloading what you just uploaded and just extracting back in there.

Re: How can I include mods?
You were right. Strange how unzipping can fix an error In it's stead I got annother one. In fact, I think I saw this one when I tried to include annother mod: "Assertion failed: Tried to make a material mapping in an offical or out-of-bounds DataModule!" Does anyone know what this means and how to solve it? Thanks for your help
