I am having trouble finding out whee maps and mods that I download go. help would be appriciated.

In your Cortex Command folder.. where you installed it.. most likely in My Computer/Program Files/Cortex Command.

C:\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command\ if you installed to the default directory.
its in some sticky somewhere.

Are you using Vista?

you could just click search in your start menu and type in one of the cc keywords

Don't install CC in Program Files under Vista.

Put in in somewhere like My Documents.

im on vista on this laptop and it worked fine from an install to the desktop. makes getting to it easier too
it should work if you just move it though, though the error you got was from an incorrect extraction.
go into the CC folder, open infinityvoid.rte and then copy out the infinityvoid.rte inside that folder.
in the future when you are extracting, extract to the CC folder, not <CC>/mod.rte, then your mods will work
