and the question is.. after i explain this senario, how do i get sound to play. If i try to play CC in a resolution other than the one that perfectly mathces my tv, sound will not play. i'm running 1760x??? and i tried running CC in ???x666. the question marks are there cuz i cant remember the other half of the resolution. I only did this so that i could actually read the weapons due to the fact that i play on my 32 inch lcd tv and the res was too high to read anything clearly in that font size. so, if anyone knows the answer, please help. |

PLease explain clearly: What was the problem, besides your sound not playing? That will be a problem with your speakers, not your game. |

From the looks of it, it has everything to do with the game. It seems that unless he plays at the perfect resolution for his TV the game doesn't have any sound. That's exactly what he said but I was clarifying. So, what would make the sound not play at what, non-standard resolutions? |

You're attempting to play the game in a resolution not supported by the game. Run the game in Window mode. It won't fit your entire screen, but you will at least be able to play. Data may eventually support large resolutions over 1440x900, but considering the game is still beta, you will have to settle with playing it in Windowed mode. |

The game already supports larger, at least 1680x1050. |

alright, you are getting off topic. besides, only the clarifier above was right. The resolution IS supported by CC because it was ITS SETTING. so now tell me why the sound wont play, oh, and here's my setup- i have an HDMI cable running from my desktop to my tv. from my tv, i have 2 gold-plated audio cables running from the back of it to my 5.1 channel SS. When i play the game in the correct res for my tv, everything works as it is supposed to. But, if i run it in a res to make the picture bigger, sound will not play back. i have isolated the problem because i have tried again and again after many tv, game, and pc restarts. i know what i'm doing and i know how to hook things up, but i cannot figure out my audio problem. |

HDMI cabes use the same connection for sound and video. Might be your graphics card acting retarded and stealing the sound output to it or something. Just seems odd that you have two equally functional cable sets for sound. |

I've had trouble getting fullscreen to work if the game resolution doesn't exactly match the TV resolution too - but I haven't tried routing my sound through the TV as well. On my 47", 1280x720 fullscreen works perfectly. Once I get my receiver setup I'll try playing with where the sound goes too, but I can't imagine it'll be a problem - unless your audio hardware is somehow linked to your graphics card, they shouldn't really interfere with each other, regardless of which device your card is outputting to, right? I think the problem has to be with the game itself, that if it's not happy with the resolution, somehow it's not happy with anything else... mine just crashes if I try a non-matching resolution, but yours might mute itself. What OS are you running and what hardware are you using? |
