Post RTE Aborted!
Abortion in file .\System\Reader.cpp, line 530, because:

Wrong type in Reader when passed to Serializable::Create() in Base.rte/Settings.ini at line 1!

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

This is the error message I get whenever i start CC. It just happened a day ago and I can't seem to fix it. I would appreciate it if you guys could help me.

So no one knows what's wrong with my CC?

O.K. I fixed it now. I ran the game as administrator.

Small question, and I realize I probably sound like an idiot right now, but how do I run it as a administrator?

This only applies if you're using Vista or Win7. If you use XP, then the Admin thing doesn't apply.

Right click on .exe -> Run as Administrator

Presto.

i have the following message that pops up when i try to load CC

RTE Aborted! (X_X)

Abortion in file .system\reader.cpp, line 530 because:
Could not match property in base.rte/settings.ini at line 196!
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

| OK |

I don't know why this is happening or how :???: ... i don't have any mods installed on my machine this just happened one day after closed the game then reopened it (within ten min. of each other)

also i reinstalled the game (in a seprate file) and it worked fine... but when i opened it it was the unregistered copy (i have the registered copy)

so can i get a new key or do i need to fix the first one?... REALLY FREAKING ANNOYING WHEN I WANT TO PLAY AN AWSOME GAME!!! 8)

Your Settings.ini is eating itself. Keep a backup copy (after a reinstall) and paste it over the broken one whenever this happens. Don't just delete the eaten and rename the copy though, make a copy of the copy so that you have it handy.

Your key is part of your settings.ini, so when it eats itself it also eats the key. You can still use your old key.
