whenever i use the ingame editors, the next time i try to open the game it closes and says theres an error in the data. the same thing happens with mods and the game wont work and i have to uninstall and then reinstall with a different path because there are files in the cortex command folder that are listed as write protected and i cant delete them.

Some specific examples, please.

why are they listed as write protected?

i have no idea. i cant delete the folders or their contents. and i now have folders in my C:\program files\datarealms that say cortex command(2), cortex command(3)...ect.

Save it somewhere else. Mine is in "My Saved Games".

Also, it appears you are using Vista.

Do not triple post. Try logging in as admin, and then edit the properties of the folders and files in question.

sorry for the tripple post, but i got mods to work now. i moved the file to my desktop, but i still cant use editors. I am registered and i have access to the menu but when i use the tools and close the game, it crashes upon loading. i didn't even save anything.

Did you try a simple reinstall?
