I'm pretty new to the game. I saw it in another forum, and some small gif's and videos about it.
it seemed pretty kickass fun. So i bought. As i was waiting excited for the game to start, i found out that the game was running incredible slow. the troops were walking VERY slow. So i searched this forum. Pressing ctrl + O made things a little better, but still the game was choppy and i had a bad fps. So now i ask you. As i don't find any menu to tweak the graphics in game, but just a resolution change feature. I now ask you.

It's evident that your computer doesn't have enough power to run the game. Not unusual, Cortex Command has to deal with thousands of pixels and their physics. Kinda sucks since you already bought it, I would suggest you try out the demo first. But.. you have three options from here.

1. Wait for optimizations to come in future builds.

2. Upgrade your computer's processor and RAM.

3. Tweak Cortex Command/Base.rte/Settings.ini using Notepad until you get acceptable results.

I'd recommend changing..

PostProcessing = 1 - This to zero.
PixelsPerMeter = 20 - This to a lower number, play with it a bit.
MaxUnheldItems = 25 - Lower this number a bit, but not too much.


And other suggestions others may post.

Hmm, well undo the changes you did and try changing these to the values below.

MaxUnheldItems = 20


See if that's any better. If it doesn't crash then try this too:

EDIT: I completely forgot:

DeltaTime = 0.0166667
RealToSimCap = 0.155976


Increase these numbers until you get a good frame rate.

My shitty 512 RAM 1.2GHz laptop can run CC fine, so I'm curious as to what you're running.

make the deltatime to say .06, maybe .08
if you make it 2 it will only calculate a frame each 2 seconds. .08 is an acceptable time, itll make the physics a little fail but playable even on my P4 shitbox.
newer CPUs like CC a lot more, this centrino duo lappy loves it. deltatime .0103 lagless yes please.
also, play with rapidly tapping 1 and 2 on the keyboard, they speed up and slow down the sim, giving you better framerates. do that rather than editing the realtosimcap. i think.
if its better now, then woot :P
