Hi,

I'm only a moderately clever user, but I can't find any information how to upgrade my bought copy to the latest version. What am I doing wrong? Please help (explained like i'm three would be nice.)

Are you talking about upgrading your game installation or your license code?

Knowing that would help a bit :U


For installation upgrading, start up your game, unregister, uninstall, install new build, register.

For upgrading your license key, go to http://licensing.datarealms.com/ and select 'Self-Reset key'.
Fill the fields and save your new key somewhere. Telephone perhaps?

I've never even heard about needing to upgrade license codes. When/why would I need that?

I'll try installation upgrade as you described it. That is most likely the answer I was looking for. I was just too afraid to screw up since CC seems a little more paranoid than most software.

You should upgrade your code, since it will allow you to register on offline computers as well and... Well, I don't really know what is the use. Everyone has done it, but I guess you'll survive anyway.

Scancode has changed the key algorithm (which makes me think someone cracked it, or it was insecure). He killed two birds with one stone by changing the code and ensuring that you can still play without connection to a registration server.

Update your code.

Actually, he cracked it himself. and apparently a lot of other people have too
