ORIGINAL POST
My problem is that when I try to run CC, it always RTE aborts, saying something about Doors C.

I have had this error ever since I made a map in an editor, I think. From B20 where I got it, to now B21, I still have this error.

I have reinstalled many times, looked at almost every post similar to my problem, but nothing has helped. I really want to play some CC, but this error is not letting me!!

Also, CC is loading in the loading screen, the thing on the right with all the data that is being initalized, when it gets to doors C (probably, because it loads too fast that I can't see it, but thats what is in the error) it aborts :???:

By the way, ever since I got the error and reinstalled, I always have my CC mods in a backup folder, which is on my desktop. IF that is causing the problem, then I should probably delete the mod folder, Right? but answer the questions above first please!

RTE problems dont affect the games main files, so you dont need to always reinstall.
Maybe your maps code has a reference to an entity that doesnt exist, or perhaps you've included an actor from a mod without putting the correct filepath into Index.ini. Mods and maps cause an RTE abortion when something is wrong with its code, so its likely you've made a mistake somewhere along the line. Currently, we cant do squat if we dont know what we are trying to fix. Post the maps code in its entirety and someone should help. Not me, though - I suck at coding.

If you just want CC working, delete your entire Cortex Command folder and THEN reinstall. Make sure your CC key is backed up somewhere else.

Well, I've reinstalled how Grif asked but it hasn't worked. I've kind of been doing the same thing you said for a while, though are you saying to delete my mods folder along with the original procedure, then try again?

Also, be aware that in all of my reinstalls I never put my mods folder inside the CC folder. It is still on my desktop, and i'll put them back in after i am positive this is working.

Delete the ENTIRE cortex command folder. Don't put anything in it. The entire folder should be gone. Totally gone, not even just empty. THEN reinstall. If it doesn't work, STILL, then reinstall it to a different directory.

Thanks Grif, I owe you one. Reinstalling into a different directory totally fixed it, though it is in a window screen.

Thus, that I can play my CC...... I declare this
