Ok, I got the error when I was throwing out a some mods, when I was throwing out the Plasma Shield.rte mod it said

Cannot delete Plasma Shield.rte: It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be useing the file and try again.

So I left it there and played CC, and as soon as it started loading the Plasma Shield.rte mod it said

Abortion in file. \Managers\PresetMan.ccp,Line 153, because:
Failed to find the Plasma Shield.rte Data Module!
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

I don't know how to fix this, I can't throw it away, move it out of the folder, move it into another mod folder. All i can do with it is move it around the CC folder.

If anyone knows how to fix this please post right away.

EDIT: Ok, no need to tell me how to fix the problem, I found out how to remove the folder.
Though you still may post if you please.

Thanks for all the help!

Make sure that nothing is running,
Definitely make sure CC is closed down.

Check through your task manager.

That's the only thing I can think of, sorry lol.
I'm not trying to treat you like an idiot or anything, I just can't think of anything else.

that happened to me once when i was testing a mod i made, it was simple but your problem might be different. go inside plasmashield.rte and make sure the index.ini is a configuration file and not a regular text file, right click it and click propertes it should tell you, a simpler way is to tell by the icon, if its a configuration file the icon will have a gear next to the paper, if its a text document it'll just be a paper with grey lines running across it

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Get that useful tool and after "unlocking" that faulty mod with the unlocker software, nuke it to hell.

ya i had this problem before too... although it was with unistalling the game... if cortex crashes, it has a problem that the computer still thinks its running... go to task manager and end the process as well, its what worked for me
