aye!...

Also, Joy2Key is unnecessary for CC.

Also also, Another problem with wireless controllers is that you have to re-sync them. the little white button that doesn't normally do anything, that you have to hold the first time you turn it on? yeah, you have to do that crap every time you switch whats being used. so from 360 to PC, re-sync... from pc to 360, re-sync... That is the main reason I go out of the way to always get wired controllers... that and I hate using batteries.

Also this is a bit of a tangent, but can someone explain this to me?
Batteries are for use when you can't plug something into a wall. when you have a wired controller, its basically connected to a wall outlet for power, care of - the system its plugged into. So A Wireless controller is "my gaming goodness is not powered by a wall outlet, and can go F-ing anywhere!"... So your controller works if you go camping, or if the power goes out... But if your not going to also use batteries to power your console, and television... Whats the point?

I mean sure, there's the argument that you might wanna sit farther away than the length of the cable, but thats what, 10-20 feet? and USBs can be easily extended... I mean, Who sits 10-20 feet away from their TV to play video games? hell I dont sit more than 8 feet away. there's tons of slack. There's that argument that 'i dont want my wires to get all tangled', but thats a stupid argument... Don't tangle them... take care of your system.

Point is, all the things that make wireless devices 'convenient' do not make sense in regards to console gaming. unless the televisions, systems, and controllers are *all* battery operated and wireless, your STILL restricted to a short distance, and to a wall outlet, no matter what. What's the point?

Less wire clutter, no annoying wire shortage :)

But if you have your controller hooked up to a charge'n'play anyways, it's a moot point. I like the wireless becasue I can bring them between my Xbox and my PC anytime with no fuss or hassle of untangling cords.

I like my wired controlled because it's an unofficial Xbox 360 controller with a see-thru body and green LEDs.

I do that with wired controllers, with no fuss of having to re-sync every time.

I am having an issue with my 360 controller.

I'm on Mac OS X. I use the wireless dongle. It works flawlessly.
It's recognized in Cortex Command just fine except the joysticks.

I'm using the drivers from http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Projec ... river#toc1

By not recognised, do you mean you go into settings and manually define the joysticks, or just they won't respond in regular play? If you haven't, try manually setting up your controller(s)

Yes. I can set player one's controls to Gamepad 1 and nothing on the controller works. So I have to go into the manual setup to set any buttons. But, the joysticks do nothing. The d-pad and buttons work fine.

Try using "gamepad 2" and so on to see who responds. Mine plays under Gamepad 2, even though the little xbox ring says p1.

It's no good. None of the gamepads respond to any buttons unless I configure them. Neither of the joysticks can be set on any of the gamepads.

Obviously you have to configure them. I don't get your problem, where are you getting stuck?

Have you tried configuring them under "gamepad 1,2,3,4"? Try 2-4, they might work.
