Is there some way to get in touch with the engine programmer? Normally programmers do this thing called 'runtime debugging' where the program can tell you exactly which line of code is causing the crash. It's a little hard to explain -- but Microsoft Visual Studio (the commercial version) is capable of remote runtime debugging. I'd be happy to run a debug build (after all, we're all running beta versions, no?)
