There is a wireless dongle that microsoft sells which makes wireless controllers work with windows.
I hate you. You just solved a problem I've been having for a while, with my xbox controller not working. i was using the charger cord on a wireless controller.

   |   Re: 360 controllerI don't know about every1 else, but i think its better to save all this trouble by doing it my way, go to The Source, or sum other game/ technology shop and buy a new computer usb controller, make sure to get plug and play, no installation works fine. And if your wondering if the $5 dollar remote works, it does, i got mine a year ago and it still works.

   |   Re: 360 controllerThough you've undoubtably tried this:
My software in any circumstance doesn't recognize the wireless Controller (Xbox 360) unless the controller is on and ready before loading up the game.

Try running the joystick/gamdpad configuration utility in Windows before the game.

   |   Re: 360 controllerOnce you have the drivers working, you might want to map the buttons to keys, grab a copy of Joy2Key (If you didn't know this by now) http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/Jo ... ersion.htm this basically makes your controller act like a keyboard, you can assign keyboard and mouse movements. Anyway, It works great, and I always seem to prefer it over built-in controller functions.

   |   Re: 360 controllerI did that a long time ago, it was pretty boss. But then I would need to type something, and I'd have to not lay back anymore and reach oh so far away for my keyboard.
