Post MenuEnter.wav Error
Hey, so a couple days ago, I could play Cortex Command, and it was great, but a couple days later, I started to get this error:

Abortion in file .\System\ContentFile.cpp line 508 because:
Failed to load datafile object with the following path and name:
Base.rte/GUIs/Sounds/MenuEnter.wav
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

And then I get the "cortexcommand.exe has crashed, blah blah blah, then that's it. I've tried replacing MenuEnter.wav, or even finding the code that calls for it, but nothing worked. So I redownloaded it, and I get the same error. I haven't updated or anything since the time I could play, nothing changed really.
Also, I don't have any sound drivers, so that may be the problem, but then why wouldn't it have worked before?
Thanks for any help in advance.

It's on my desktop and always has been.

Hm... I might actually have to think about this one.

Is the music file in the right spot? Try following the path stated in the error.

Yes, it's with all of the other sound files in the correct path.

Just a warning, Probly not a good Idea to Double post. I'm not sure, when you reinstalled, did you delete everything and then install again?

The game can't find the music file.

The game can't find the music file.

I executed the "uninstall" file, which essentially deleted everything in the game directory.
Also, I was thinking about another way to fix this, if I could find the code that calls for the music file and cut it out, then it would theoretically fix the problem, but I don't know how to get to .\system\contentfile.cpp (It's not in the windows\system folder).

Sadly I believe it is accessed direct from the .exe

Well, searching for contentfile.cpp in all places didn't come up with anything, and I looked at the exe with resource hacker and Hex Workshop and I didn't find it, either.

.cpp = C Plus Plus = C++

It is definitely the .exe [or one of the .dll files being run through the .exe].

Only get your audio devices working. Other than that I'm all out of idea-

WAIT!

Check all of the Base.rte folders, make sure they're not indexed.
