loading scenes/mods
HIB newbie here...
I cannot get any maps or mods or scenes to work, even the ones that claim support for B24.
Googling has only given me the wisdom that "you just extract the .zip or .rar in your CC directory and play!"
But after doing that with all of the Tartarus mods and scenes released by weegee, everything in the game is the same. No new scenarios or anything.
I don't even see the new scenes in the scene editor selection list.
This is really driving me insane, as I'm dying for new content after playing B24 (almost daily) vanilla for a month.

Re: loading scenes/mods
How do you install them? Are you extracting the .rte folders from the .zip or .rar archives, and putting them in along with the other .rte's in the CC folder?

Re: loading scenes/mods
Also, wrong forum. This should go in the Game and Licensing support forum IMO.

Re: loading scenes/mods
I'm extracting the zip/rar, and placing the resulting SomeFolder.rte inside the "Cortex Command" directory alongside Base.rte, etc.

Re: loading scenes/mods
Where is your copy of CC installed? If it is in program files, that may cause some odd problems.

Re: loading scenes/mods
It's in E:\Program Files\Data Realms\Cortex Command\
I'll try moving it somewhere else...

Re: loading scenes/mods
I moved it to "E:\Cortex Command", and still nothing.
The directories are not "Ready for archiving", which I guess is the another common problem.
There is so little to do when installing, there is very little that can be done incorrectly, so I can't figure out why I'm having this problem.
Is there a manual way to attempt to load mods or scenes via the console that may give me some feedback?
Is there a debugging (or verbose) mode to see where it lists the directories it sees?

Re: loading scenes/mods
Not really. You can very briefly see what it loads at the start, as it loads, though. Your best bet is to try typing gibberish into the Index.ini, first line, if you wish to see if the mods are being touched at all.
