Post An odd problem
Hello

I've been introduced to this game not so long ago and I must say i'm liking it ... It reminds me of when i used to play worms on the sega saturn and tunnel myself a base!
But anyway, onto the main point of this post. I would be very greatful if someone could shed some light on my situation. I'm trying to play Skirmish and at least 90% of the time the enemies just will not spawn .. no drop ships, rockets or anything. I'm just left twiddling my thumbs.

Now i've tried and tried and every so often they will actually start spawning but its rare. I was just wondering if anyone has ever come across this before and if so would you be so kind as to offer some advice?

Thank you very much!

Do you happen to be playing on a map with no x-wrap, that is, the map ends on the left and right instead of simply continuing from the other side?

As of b23, the latest released version, the enemy spawner does not correctly handle non-x-wrapping and thus enemies will spawn too close to the edge of a map and be lost. There are ways to correct this, but the easiest solution for you is to play on x-wrapped maps.

Worry not, that particular bug is not stated anywhere in the game and not very often here on the forum, so there is no shame in not knowing of it.
I thought at one time I had made a small Lua mod to fix this issue, not sure if I still have it... If I do, and it works, you could also use that and play on any level you like.

Aha, well in relation to your advice i've just given it a little test and it seems this issue is indeed caused by my not playing on an x-wrapped map. I started a looped map up and they seemed to spawn just like before. Nice to know it wasn't just me doing something wrong.

Is there somewhere I could search for this possible fix that you may or may not have made ?

Once again thanks for the friendly advice and help, it is much appreciated!

For one I'm not sure if I ever produced it, or if I just thought of a possible solution. For another, I don't know if once I produced it if I ever distributed it. I'll take a look through my archives and see if I can find it.

Unfortunately, while it looks like I did produce it, it doesn't seem to work. :-(

You can still have it if you want, but your best bet is still to play on an x-wrap scene.

Data should be aware of this issue, so hopefully it'll be fixed in the next build, which is scheduled to be released somewhere around the 19th of june, 2029.

Also, welcome. :)
