Hi, I ussually use a mac to mod in cortex command but I got windows 7 recently and I want to use it because it loads the game much faster, among many things. Windows 7, however, is swarming with paranoid security features and when I try to edit a notepad file in base.rte, for example, it says: "Access is denied." Do you have any ideas why this might be happening?

Things I have already checked:
Making sure the file is read&write
Making sure I have full administrator permissions on the folder
Making sure that I'm logged in on an administrator account

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Make sure you've downloaded all the windows updates?

Try moving it out of program files.
