   |   Trouble with rar compressionWhen I compress a perfectly normal file into a rar compressor it screws it all up and the game one load it. How do I compress a .rte file into .rar without screwing it up/what settings do I use?

   |   Re: Trouble with rar compression.rte files are regular folders with ".rte" stuck at the end. We use .rar compression for distribution of mods because you cannot upload folders to the web (usually).
EDIT: or do you mean that when you uncompress the rar you made, it screws up? I just use the default settings...

   |   Re: Trouble with rar compressionI mean when I uncompress the rar I made, to make sure that it works, it messes the .rte up, also, i zipped the file and unzipped and it worked when I did this. I would like to use zip, but it seems like nobody uses it here. Am I allowed to? Why don't people usually use it? Thanks for the fast reply, by the way.

   |   Re: Trouble with rar compressionPeople will use them, but it is preferable to use 7zip if rar does not work. Most people here use 7zip for rar files anyway. zip files have a history of strange effects, making the files in the .rte unseeable by Cortex Command. It is fixable by some simple copy and pasting, but it is more trouble than just downloading 7zip if they haven't already.

   |   Re: Trouble with rar compressionWe usually use rar as it has better compression and there's a bug with zipped folders that require some tinkering to get the game to read them. (That is create an identical folder and move the content to this one)
