Post Cortex Command Build 23 crashes at the Main Screen
That's right.

I formated my computer, because I accedently deleeted some important files while I was cleaning my C partition. Windows did not load and stuff so I decidet to kill the machine and make everything fresh.

Of course, CC was the first game I installed and then: woah?! It loads finde, the intro movie plays and then, the main menu is shown for a second and then it throws me back to the desktop without a error message.

What to do?

It's Build 23, demo - version.

Reinstalling windows worked, didn't it?
I'd try reinstalling Cortex Command.
If that doesn't work, I think we'll need a bit more information.
Someone else might have had this problem though and might be able to help further.

Does it give a useful error message?
Are you using Vista? Some people with Vista have suggested installing it to a folder outside of Program files. I personally have not had this experience so I can't say if doing so fixes it.

Unfortunatelly, there's no error message - it just throws me back to windows.
But I can try to install it outsiude the program files. Let's see if that works ...

Not calling you an idiot, but are you pressing Esc to skip the into sequence?
That'll chuck you out of CC without an error message, after flashing up the main menu.
If this is the case, use the Space Key instead.

Hah, don't worry, most of us had to learn that the hard way as well.

Yeah, because I used to use the space key all the time, but when I paused playing it and then did my computer new, I just thought, there's no difference between ESC and SPACE. ^^
