Abortion in file .\Managers\PresetMan.cpp, line 162, because:

Failed to fine the FacingWorlds.rte Data Module!

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

Ya, that. I was making a new map, first time trying, but when I started trying to open CC, it just crashed, so I got rid of the map and the line in Base.rte/Scenes.ini, and it's now doing this. I even did a search for anything with the word facing twice, and even did a file content search, no luck. Some help please?

Um... does the FacingWorlds.rte have an index.ini? If not, you might want to delete the .rte from the folder's name.

I posted exactly what was on the error. I actually deleted the entire FacingWorlds folder. I just want to be able to play w/o it. I went into the scenes.ini file and removed it from the bottom.

That error usually comes up when an .rte has an Index.ini without the line "DataModule" at the beginning. But if you want to track down the problem, you could make a new folder in the CC installation folder, move all your mods there so that you wouldn't have to reinstall them all and see if it still gives the error.

Yeah, you must have had an old version of my map. It got borked between Build 21 and 22. Back then it relied on modifying a file in Base.rte, along with having the Map - Objects folder from Gotcha!'s Map Pack V3. If you didn't change the line correctly, it'll crash you.

Make sure you did all of the following:
1) Deleted any Scenes made using the Facing Worlds terrain, found in FacingWorlds.rte/Scenes.ini
2) Deleted the following line from your Base.rte/Scenes.ini
Quote:
IncludeFile = Maps - Objects/Index.ini

Sorry it caused you trouble. A new B23 compatible one is coming soon, and it involves none of the stupid Base.rte editing or .ini work. It'll be a simple one and done .rte.

Actually, I was creating my own map. though I did get the idea from looking at your map. I was really hoping you would convert it to B23. I'm glad you are doing so. :) Otherwise, I can't get my game working, I'm just gonna try reinstalling CC.

EDIT: Okay, something's really screwed. I deleted everything and reinstalled it yet it's still showing the error. Is something logged in the registry?

Did you install to a different directory?

Actually, that's what I did afterwards, it started working. Any explanation to why it did that? and where does the abortscreen.bmp get saved to?

I imagine why it didn't work in the original directory is the borked files stuck around after you (I assume) uninstalled it.

As for abortscreen, it always gets saved to the main Cortex Command directory.

No, I uninstalled, cleared the entire data realms folder out, and reinstalled. And it doesn't seem to save the abortscreen for me... maybe it just doesn't like windows 7... Well screw u CC, I'm staying, this is 100x better than Vista.
