I have this same error, only thing is, I don't have any mods! I installed CC on a clean hard-drive, so he couldn't have activated any mods. Any ways to fix this>?

1) ini editing helps.
2) after editing inis and changeing presetnames i have another problem. When i click "Bodies" in buy menu game freezes. It can be solved by disableing some units in mods. For example, i installed Amrobotics and my game freezed when i tried to buy new body. Then i deleted steamboiler unit description from "steamhowitzer.rte/steamhowitzer.ini". It cured the problem. I think the problem is steamboiler picture in buy menu. It is too big for b23 to handle.
3) Have you tried to change screen resolution? May be it will solve your problem because buy menu size changes with resolution. My PC sux so i play CC 640*480 and never changed it. IDK if it works or not.
