My game worked perfectly until I downloaded Map Pack 3 and Prom's Guns- and my game crashed on start-up. Not a game crash, a Windows-universal crash, the whole "hope you saved, our apologies, etc" error. So I delete the new additions, try again, and still the same crash. Whatever. I uninstall and re-install and try running in Trial Mode- hey, cool, same error even though I deleted all the old data!
So I re-start my computer and re-install. Same crash with vanilla unregged Cortex Command, even though I was playing two or three hours ago. What the hell.

You uh, sure it's CC? Is there anything else you might have downloaded in the meantime?

Absolutely sure. I was playing, decided "this is getting stale", downloaded two .rte's and here we are.

I think I launched Spore in-between but I've done that 20 times before now.

Started working again, disregard entire thread.
