Post Morrowind VS Oblivion VS any other PC rpg
Morrowind or Oblivion which do you think is better and why? Also if you think there is a better pc rpg than both you may choose it.

I think Morrowind is far better than Oblivion.
Oblivion points: 3pts
- Needs a decent system to run -2pts
+ Great Graphics 10pts
- Too little quests (mods relive this slightly) -5pts
- Bland Environments -5pts
- Far smaller world than morrowind -5pts
- Bland Selection of items
+ Cheap to purchase 10pts

Morrowind Points: 45
+ Runs on practically any system nowadays 10pts
= Stock graphics aren't all that great but with texture mods and better bodies they wont make your eyes bleed 0pts
+ Plenty of quests and tons more with mods 10pts
+ Imaginative detailed environments 10pts
+ Massive World 10pts
+ Large variety of wearable items
+ Cheap to Purchase and Official plugins are free 15pts

Yes, but mods fix literally every flaw in Oblivion. You can even get a mod called Morblivion which changes Oblivion into morrowind.

Think of the console people here.
I'm looking at the core game, I don't want to have to download a bunch of fan made bull♥♥♥♥ to fix what the devs. should have fixed themselves.

We live in the year of 2007. Get a job, get a good PC. Problem solved? God, you people act like it's impossible to get money. This is what public education is teaching you kids - jack ♥♥♥♥.

Not that great. They're pretty and all, but HDR look like ♥♥♥♥ in-game.

Too little? You do realize the guilds and the main quests aren't all? All you want is here

What? In Morrowind there were mushrooms, rocks, and about two textures for the terrain which was rock and moss. Oblivion actually threw REAL FORESTS at you, yet you say they're bland? Oh, sorry, didn't think the entire dev team going out and photographing textures of real objects to put on the smallest places and observing forests wasn't enough for you?

Not FAR smaller, but does it matter? In Morrowind it was too big in my thoughts. There was too much and I got lost easily.
Quote:
- Bland Selection of items

Elaborate. Do you mean the fact that they threw out the throwing stars and the daedric crescent? To be honest, there wasn't much else. There were too many weapon types in all their materials it was a real hassle.

If by "cheap" you mean normal, then it is. Considering it's about fifty dollars for the full game, thirty for the expansion, about twenty for addons, and sixty for the 360 version or PS3, yeah it's average price.

Not everyone can get a job, and not everyone has the money to blow it on $500+ rigs. Some people have girlfriends, cars, college prospects. And what was with the insult on the public education system? "Teaching you kids?" The guy you just insulted is probably the same age you are, so cool it.
The only thing public education teaches us is, don't blow money on stupid ♥♥♥♥ now, so you can have shittons of it to blow later, when morons like you are stuck working at Wal-Mart, while hitting on the semi-attractive manager.

Morrowind still had far more quests compared to Oblivion.
Saving the woman's pillows from rats was amazing. :D

Oblivion had great looking forests and thats it. No deserts, no swamps, nothing. Just all over the freaking place, the same generic fantasy forest stuff.
And the dungeons? The dungeons sucked so much ass in Oblivion, every one was the freaking same, either cave, elf ruin, or temple, all using the same bull♥♥♥♥ prefabs to make them, you don't feel any of that handcrafted touch you got in Morrowind.

What? Are you serious? Oblivion had Leather, Iron, Steel, Dwemer, Glass, Fur, Daedric, Orcish, and Ebony. Morrowind had Chitin, Leather, Fur, Glass, Nordic, Orchis, Dwemer, Wolf, Bear, Dreugh, Indorial, Bonemould, crossbows, all the different throwing items, shittons of different clothes, I could go on. Oblivion just doesn't have the content Morrowind does.

Morrowind is cheap, which is good I guess, but I think they recently lowered the price of Oblivion, so I'll stay neutral on this one.

Sounds more like a fanboy fight, Jack, but I'll debate further.

You know, in my younger years I thought that was quite a lot to deal with. I found it that it wasn't what I thought. Sure, money is hard, but I learned a thing called self-management. My insult to the public education system meant that teachers can't calm their students down to take a damn test. Then most of them do nothing but sit through class, go to the next, go home, and do useless activities when they have more to do. And saving is good, yes, but it's hard. Also I don't work at Wal-Mart. I have a fine job, so don't try that flank Jack.

Compared to it. Compared. He was saying that it had a small selection of quests in general. And so was finding the wrecked pillow ship.

And guess what Morrowind had? Swamps, mountains. Yee-hoo. Handcrafted? The only logic I see in that is the handful of easter eggs in the dungeons relating to things like Pikachu and Indiana Jones. The only other difference was architecture. Let's face it, all dungeons are boring. There's so many of them that appear the same, yet sometimes you don't realize it, and you just can't go through them all unless you really have nothing to do.

I never did. I'm surprised Jack, I insulted the public board of education and you feel that you are part of that weak wall that wastes the tax payer's money? I can comprehend it, it's just walking around in it. It wasn't fun or interesting to walk around in that wilderness getting constantly attacked by cliff racers and finally finding another location. At least in Oblivion, it preset some markers and allowed me to quick travel with a click and a click.

That's the thing. You can only wear one suit of armor and a robe over that. So much, yet so much useless? Screw that. I missed a few materials but then after a while I thought "Meh, didn't use them anyway." Besides, this Cyrodill. Set in the world where chitin wasn't abundant, it wasn't that cold all over for fur, dreugh's were rare, indorial didn't belong in the Nine Divines religion, and bonemould couldn't be found. There are mods that add these back in also.

Morrowind is cheap because it's old. It took around six years for the next game to come out. Oblivion's price dropped because of sales lacking and age.

You put up a good argument, and I'm glad that you've played Morrowind as well as Oblivion. I reckon this will just be a fight of who can bicker the longest, so I'll just leave it here. :D

Morrowind is a more interesting world that was surprisingly immersive with some better aspects. Oblivion is the better game overall.

PS I don't understand buying Oblivion for 360 instead of PC. Modability is a huge aspect.

They had pretty much similar items. You're probably one of the "Spear" whiners.

Plus, I got Oblivion for 360, and already had Morrowind for PC. And I like Oblivion more.

Woah I hate it when debaters try to tackle everything at once can't we just go 1 point at a time?

In Oblivion the combat system is more realistic where as in Morrowind it is more hardcore.

Oblivion you hit every time unless the enemy blocks realistic but for me its not as fun as Morrowind (more of a personal thing)

In Morrowind you miss occasionally and there is a chance for the enemy to block making it somewhat harder. I don't know why I like the Morrowind system more but I do. Also I realize this is a never ending war so does anyone think there is a better rpg than oblivion and morrowind on the pc?

Also alot of people playing games are on there parents computer or similar and usually it's not that great. Like mine it is pretty much stock and its a use our internet service get 1 free computer deal. The only non stock thing is the clock speed. Christmas will be 1-2GB Ram and a good video card.

...What? You're going into technicalities here, people playing on their parents computer...Some people don't even own the computer they're playing on, but that's a technical difficulty that shouldn't be drawn into the discussion considering it can't be solved by anyone but that person alone.

Diablo 2 gets really old, all you do is hack at some things, cast some spells, level up until you get to the cap, then it gets more repetitive.
