Post Need help with building a computer. (Please?)
I've gotten tired of buying a new computer every couple of years and just putting the old one in a closet. Recently I had an idea, my old computers have good cpus but are lacking in graphics and RAM, so I figured that I would buy a large tower case and just put my new computer components in it and the cpus of the old computers. The one problem is, I don't have a clue whether it's possible to put more then 1 cpu in the same case. The cpus would also be different models. I also have little experiance in building computers. (Although my friend does and I'm handy enough with computers to probably build one with minimal help.) Sooo... can anyone help me?

Multiple CPUs in the same case is a recipe for disaster in terms of heating unless you're investing in watercooling, and even then you'd need some kind of massive motherboard to support it.

Keep the CPUs in their relevant cases and ask someone knowledgable about distributed computing.

I just checked Wikipedia, and it seems rather difficult too do. Is there any easy way to do it?

You could get the hard drives to work together with a RAID system, although they're probably different sizes.

I really don't know a lot about the technical aspect, only the theory.

For the hard drives I think I'll just reformat them and put most of them in one computer.

How many processors do you have? rather than just tossing multiple in one case use liquid cooling with 1 processor and oc it to like 4ghz (if possible) and replace it with another processor when it dies. Im running a 1.8GHZ at 2.1GHZ right now. I might push for 2.6
