Post Intarwebs down.
Right. The interwebs on my laptop no longer work. I've tried 4 different rooms on phone line and LAN cables. My parent's computer works, and their room is one of the four I've tested in.
I fear the modem on my computer may be dead. And, no wireless doesn't work, my laptop's wireless card failed a few months ago.
Basically, is there any way to test if my modem is working?

[I'm typing all this on my Wii.]

Remove the driver for the laptop from the device manager, and then restart. PnP should reinstall the device.

The found new hardware wizard popped up, but I don't have any of the setup files.
So now I have no modem.

Well, good news. I know the problem wasn´t with my hardware, because I just installed Ubuntu and the interwebs work just fine and dandy.

Thanks for the help, tho, THOR.
