I don't know about you guys, but I have always been very interested in the concept and practical applications of renewable energy, and really anything that helps the environment. Today on a whim I was browsing google, and I came upon this little gem:

Today I sent in a letter urging our representatives to push for cleaner, renewable sources of energy to offset the carbon footprint we leave and to generate tens of thousands of new jobs in America.
I'm an avid supporter of environmental protection.

Maybe the wind isn't blowing enough in the wind farm powering their servers.

I am a firm supporter of Nuclear Energies.

An average Nuclear Power Plant produces 3 Cubic Meters of waste a year.

But if I must, Stirling Engines, Wind Power, Geo-thermal, and Solar Panels are also
high on my list, even though the world isn't running out of oil, or plutonium, and we
aren't going to drown in global warming (because it doesn't exist).

When we perfect Fusion (Hot or cold (preferably cold)), then I will firmly support that.

I prefer solar myself. And of course, for highest efficiency, solar power space stations. They would be great! Unlimited power, and shiny to boot!

Solar power at the moment is just a booster pack. Toss one on your roof to knock 50 USD off your power bill.

And they only last around 10 years. (They are the lowest on my list).

The only real usage for them is to just tape one of these onto a solar panel so it acts as a battery.

Geothermal (like in Jurassic Park) is the highest on my list in the renewable energy scheme.

The problem with geothermal is, that you have to find the right areas to put it. You can't just stick a geothermal plant down anywhere...

Fusion is probably our best bet, if only we could perfect it..

Also cold fusion is physically impossible, unfortunately.

Since when was cold fusion impossible?

We simply haven't been able to make the reaction self-sustaining enough to be commercially viable yet.

Actually, cold fusion is not impossible.
They have successfully used it in a fusion experiment. However, it's not the whole "oh god cold water free energy yay!" thing you may be thinking of. It uses certain crystals (forget the name, something similar to piezoelectric, but different effect) to quickly create an impulse of atoms smashing against atoms to create a short burst of fusion. However, it's not sustainable. Or energy efficient.

Also, I just tested the link on 3 different computers, and it works fine. Don't know what you are all complaining about. But I added url tags, not that it seemed to matter at all to me. Should work, if not, then idk.
