Tell us when u started cortex command! I started when at school some of my friends made a fake teacher folder on the STUDENT~1 school server. It was called Ms. Britt. I think Kokits named it. Anyways it had some folders like "Powerpoints" and stuff, and then there was a Free Time folder. Everyone uploaded games onto it. Then Kokits added cortex command and eveyrone was hooked. Then like after a while some dude named David told a teacher that it was full of games everyone added, and it was shut down. Then we played cortex command on some new school laptops, and Kokits told everyone how to mod. Of course we all had a window opened up as something like "MS Paint" or something harmless, so when someone came we switched to the window. It was cool. |

Let's see... I started when CC was "week's free content" at Pelit.fi, Finnish gaming magazine. Ah, CC is such fun. |

I first started to search google for "cool robot ragdoll" because I just popped in three of common words/likings, and I searched around dug through the useless crap and found this little community, the game looked awesome. Joined and I wanted to check out mods and especially the "no public - Mod making" forum that members could only see... I'm not sure, but I joined semi early compared to the age of this forum (page three of member list:52 pages), but still considered pretty late from the beginning of the project. Started off playing around, think it was the early 5s or something like that, didn't really pay attention. Back then, we didn't really know how to mod. Also, people were excited to finally see gibs of legs and helmets when you killed some one. But for me it wasn't really interesting, I promised to come back because there had to be improvements later on. So I came back and I noticed that a lot had changed, it was around build 10-11. I started to explore modding and then went into the Halo mod. While that was happening, having no idea that it updated to build 12, finally released my mod but in build 11, ending up in NO ONE downloading it. Then stuck around started playing with mods and then temporarily left for Soldat. After some pwnage from Soldat, came back build 13 was about to come out, started my serious modding then, and met lots of cool people (too many to name) and the forum was fun, but after a while things started to get horrible, I soon left for numerous reasons. I then watched the DR forum attempt and some what successfully remove the turmoil while I was gone, many people left but they will be remembered. I received my report card and my grades dramatically increased due to leaving many online communities including DR. I waited until summer to come back again, and to help the forum get back to the old state. Here I am now. I honestly think that the recovery is going well. (sorry if that took long) |

You could mod CC back in build 6, when it had TXTs instead of INIs It would have replced sutff, but still moddable After build 7 modding really started to kick in, and this brings us to where we are today |

Yeah, I remember that, Build 7 opened TONS of possibilites, I also remember Toonyman helping me create my BF2142 Morretti Sniper Rifle. I had no idea how do mod back then. Hehe... Good times.... P.S. This thread delivers. |

Xtortion1980 told me about it and it interested me enough to play it. And I, being the sort of person to never be completely happy with something, messed around with the code. Seeing how easy it was to mod, I searched for more professional mods for it. I then found this site and joined. |

Build 8 or 9, not long before I joined the forum, but having modded BF1942 and about a dozen other games I really wasn't going to have trouble with CC, seeing as how modding it is about as difficult as using google. |

I don't remember the exact build, it was too long ago. All I remember is that the map was prom grounds and there was no UI. |
