It seems most flame wars start in the off-topic section so my solution would be to remove the ot section. Or just lock it until all the topics are pruned of angry posts and people forget what they were mad about. |

Yea... But! Most flame wars also end in the off topic. There's politics for you. |

Nice, Tim. Locking it would just bring the flame wars to General. |

This forum is mostly for modding so I think that just locking the Off-Topic section wouldn't hurt. Or mabey even increasing the punishment for people who flame or encourage Flame Wars. |

Take this forum for example they don't have an OT section and there are no flame wars. http://www.fallingsandgame.com/ They are about as active as us. |

Your last resort to deal with any infestation of alien nature in most cases would be to annihilate all in the area including your own forces. This is normally depicted by Sci-Fi movies by using some sort of an energy bomb to stop an alien infestation on a planet or space station. This would be one of those final resort situation. Locking wouldn't hurt, and along with deleting or locking the argument topics. Deletion would be radical, and should only be used if the flame and spam did not stop. |

I think the best solution when there is a flame war going on is to totally lock the server for 24 hours. READ-ONLY MODE |

Yes, that's what I came up with on IRC the other day. |

Ooor... You could make it so that only like... 6 people could post. Then those people would have a utopia of visible carefree posting. Oh the joy. Oh the exaltation. |

OH THE HUMANITY! I actually spent more time here then I do anywhere else on the forum. And besides, the flamewars have been cooling down lately. |

I agree withe MP. This forum used to not have an Off-Topic section. Therefore there were a lot less flame wars. I, hated the OT when it first came, and if you wanna talk about random stuff, you can do it on IRC. I do agree, OT should be locked. |

You people post in OT to get rid of OT. Why not just stay out of OT? If you don't want it, just leave. You can ignore it, and pretend it was never there. |

problem with locking OT is that many people have gotten attached to it... so it would hinder how much they'd log on to the forums... (but i try to log on each day either way XD) still haviung the OT section shut down would be good... for some... other wouldnt be too affected... some wouldnt be affected atall |
