Type of network, encryption, distance, etc...

I donno what you mean by encryption, the distance is about 6 feet, the type of network is a wireless broadband netgear router.

Me, it works fine for my computer, but for safety reasons I now use an ethernet cable to get internet to my computer.

Oh, well if you set it up, then it's not likely to have encryption by default. Odd that your Wii isn't picking it up then...
Is it 802.11a, b, g, n, or what?

And I've never set up a Wii, does it see your network and not connect? Or just not see it period?

It sees it, it just decides that it doesn't want to connect to it.

Does it not show up on a list of possible connections?

I dunno then, I guess you could try resetting your router if you haven't done so already... :???:

Hey, I have to reset mine on a daily basis.

I thought of another thing, have you changed your network's name from NETGEAR? If there's more than one of those in your neighborhood, perhaps it's confusing the Wii's network browser.
