there's no one talking about mods or talking about mods, or posting some mods, what happened to mods?

The game died out a few years ago, new updates or sales pushed some new people to the forum. But really everything that is still going on here is the guys from way before hanging out for old time's sake.

I used to be a modder. I don't feel like making or playing any more mods, Cortex Command is no longer being developed in a meaningful manner, and the only activity in this forum is pretty much a few old members in forum games and the couple of new modders that arrive every few months and then leave.

I'll help out in Mod Making if it isn't too annoying, but I've done my part in the whole modding scene.

It's difficult to keep enjoying a game that hasn't changed much in ~4ish years. Plus, people get older and have less time for things.

Reading the 3 present comments, I can understand the situation, but it is clear that the main problem, not us, are the creators, why?
because they left the game forgotten, however, even though, on vacation, I'm going to improve the mod more than how little it is, well, my goal here was to create mods for the game, I must finish my task.

thanks to readers for responding

Well, keep in mind that Cortex Command was officially released in 2012, and it had been publicly in development since 2006. The height of this forum's popularity was around 2007, so... yeah, it's pretty quiet now. I don't know that it's anyone's fault, really — that's just what happens when a relatively small community runs out of things to talk about.

Well....

And if we talk about how the mod looks? (haha is a joke)
Well, in part it makes sense, I just hope the creators, that is, Data Realms puts more performance into the game, because honestly it has a lot of potential, and of course, you know that too.

I don't think the game is going to make any sort of comeback any time soon unfortunately.

This is what's wrong with the community, nobody is buying the game, that's how it died out.

Funny story, I was playing with the 6 minute time limit demo till after I released the Void Walkers IIRC.

No number of purchases would put Cortex Command back into development.

The development team, community, and everyone else involved has moved on. They'd moved on years before the game was even pushed to release.

Planetoid Pioneers shows no promise of reviving the community. I'm surprised the forum is still hosted at all.

Don't worry. It's already been giggled at in secret.

Cortex Command will still always be one of my favorite games tbh. It's got so many good things going for it. All the new toys that were added, the new game modes and such, just didn't really bring anything new to the table. What good is squad based gameplay advances when the game was most enjoyable going solo?

Ah well, I still come back not because I think somehow CC will get revitalized and I'll find time for it again, but because there's something nice about hopping online and seeing a names of people I've interacted with for a bunch of years. I'm too busy to be up to date with the community really anymore, but if my friends here are still able to find time to visit, then surely things must be ok for them. I find some comfort there.

RESPECT

Good times.
