Yup I really don't know what happened here I was browsing the forums defragmenting my HDD when all of a sudden my computer stopped responding then a few seconds later the screen went black the power was still on and everything so I had to shut it off and restart windows I don't think it's a virus because I just reinstalled windows but I will do a virus scan just to be sure. Anyone ever get a black screen of death instead of a blue screen? |

It's happened to me a few times. I'm guessing it had to do with the video card. |

hmm Thats nomrlay when you got conflics in drivers or something like that.. make sure you got the lastest videocard drivers.. Download http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=36 super pi and do the 8M test. see if anything happens also if it finshs, post the time |

Ok I did a virus scan and I got nothing so I will try that. [Edit] Nvm I think I may have found the problem I just have to wait and hope that im right. |

I have a similar problem about 50% of the time I log off, the screen just goes That IS to do with the graphics card |

When I logged out, or the screensaver was activated, the screen just died with the message "so signal input" when I tried to get the comp working again. Fixed itself after a while though, it may actually have been when we replaced that buggy old graphic card that came with the comp (In fact it was from the Nvidia Nforce series - I think 6400+ - but it still bugged.) |

I get a black screen of doom when playing full screen games, the game freezes for about half a second then the screen goes black and nothing happens for the remainder of the time I leave it on. |
