Hey. I have an old PC, with a Celeron running at 400-something mhz, a DVD drive, and 256 MB of RAM.
It's an old Dell L500c.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a Linux distro for it?

For a lightweight desktop, you might want to try Arch or Xubunutu. I don't know much about other specialized distros, though. You could just use it as a file server.

Well the only thing that it would be good at other than a boat anchor would be to store files on.

And since there is no storage option I chose boat anchor.

Sell it. To a humorously crusty old captain.

"Aye! Tis not an anchor."

"This is a Dell L500c, it weighs more than a luxury SUV."

"Aye, aye. Very well then." *gives monies*

"HOIST THE MAIN-SAIL, YA SCURVY DOGS! OR I'LL HAVE YE THROWN TO THE BOTTOM-FEEDERS!"

*Fog horn*

Good times...

Server. Sell the graphics card, buy a crappy one and with the money left upgrade processor and RAM and buy a 1 Terabyte HD, then proceed to fill it with crapload of files.
