Hi I was wondering if I should start a new thread for all of the modders out there who provide us with their wonderful factions, I know this is probably a dumb idea, I was thinking they could basically act as heads of their factions, and provide us with a little fan backstory kind of thing, like where their faction is located in space, if they are at TGRP (the gold rich planet) or midas or someotherplace and make fake deals and such, just an idea

tell me what you guys think :)

Do weapon packs count as factions?

Um I guess they would count as weapon manufacturers, they would be weapon suppliers to everyone unless stated otherwise

Considering the background of CC I always imagined most third party mods in the role of corporations that sold their designs to Tradestar to sell on to you rather than as political entities, it just seems to make a bit more sense considering you can buy everything.
If you sell guns why not sell clones?
Obviously though this isn't the case for a lot of people's backstories.

But you do have to understand something, if you go read the concept art thread prom stated pretty clearly that you were never meant to buy everything, at least not in the campaign/story mode,

which means cannon wise, you weren't meant to buy everything which nullifies the issue

Um I was going to start a new thread in kind of a red squadron standing by motif if you guys thought this was a good idea, so do you?

some ground rules:
weapon packs count as tech companies and weapon manufacturers
entire factions such as unitec automatically counts as a faction
if you only have made one or two weapons unless they are super amazing will be considered stand alone tech
your factions weaponry will in effect be more useful and more sought after the better and more original/new the tech for example Mehman's missile turrets that can hit pretty much everything no matter what speed it has or how large it is, that would be extremely valuable

also: asking for suggestions the new threads name, and its motif, should the motif be red squadron standing by or should it break the fourth wall?
