Don't get a laptop expecting it to run things quickly or nicely.

I was just about to say this.

OP, a price range would be infinitely useful if you actually want relevant suggestions.

* Quickly and nicely by laptop standards- Point taken. Up to 1200$ price range.

I dunno what the standards are but my laptop works reasonably well for general use and games if you mind the overheating.

Oh god the Acers... They're breaking all the time... Oh god they're breaking!

I only use a laptop. It would be a great gaming pc if it weren't for the shitty graphics, but I can run the Steam Mass Effect 2 demo even when system requirements lab says I can't, so take a look.

Wat. I've had mine pretty much on 24/7 for about two months now and she's running perfectly. All that remains for acer to be considered a bad brand is the stigma from the first really cheap ones, but now they give you the biggest for for you buck and build quality on par with every other brand out there.

Have fun browsing through there.

I trust no laptops. From my experience they tend to come packed with loads of useless stuff and they have a shorter lifetime than a desktop computer.

Easy to uninstall.

The only problem laptops have in comparison to desktops is the ability for people to move them around/drop them, among other factors.

It's that versus the ability to move at all that should really decide whether or not you want one.

Can't help you.
Dearest internet,
Please stop asking me for suggestions as to a gaming laptop. You're giving me an ulcer. I just want the pain to stop. Why can't you see that those two words are oxymoronic and you're better off buying a desktop and a netbook?

Your price range is slightly low for an actual gaming laptop.
However, getting a decent 800 dollar Desktop and a 400 dollar netbook should do well for you as it worked for me.

I'm really happy with my $570 Lenovo Z565 laptop from newegg. But I think it was a black friday sale.

But hey! It runs Crysis 2 at the lowest resolution/settings at 30 FPS, and TF2 like butter. But the battery will last 5 minutes, brand new.

I recommend it if your income gets slashed.
