Post subject:  Approximate value of this setup?

Basically, I am thinking about selling my beautiful desktop so I can buy a nice sexy laptop. The HP tm2t to be precise.

These are the specs:
Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L
530W Raidmax PSU
Core 2 Quad Q9400 (2.66ghz, stable up to 3.2 w/o voltage increase on air)
6GB DDR2 RAM (2x2GB DDR2 800, 2x1GB DDR2 667)
ATI Radeon 1GB HD 5750
Rocketfish RF-51SDCD 5.1 surround sound card
2xHDD (250 GB WDC WD2500JS-75NCB3 and 1TB WDC WD10EADS-00M2B0)
2x CD/DVD drives (PHILIPS DROM6316 16x/48x DVD-ROM and TSSTcorp TS-H493B DVD:16x, CD:48x/32x/48x DVD-ROM/CD-RW)
Realtek RTL8168B/8111B PCI-E gigabit ethernet
2 monitors (Dell 1704FPT Digital 17" LCD, and Dell SE198WFP Digital 19" LCD)
And the case, which I converted to flat black with spray paint: (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811148001)
Also, Win7 Ultimate 64-bit.

And since certain websites are down, I come to you all.
What would you appraise the value of my machine at?

(Keep in mind I would be selling on ebay or craigslist.)

The most I'd be willing to pay for that(used) is $800. You won't get any more than that on ebay/craigslist. people don't buy used computers too often!!

$800-1000 would be what I am looking for.
That seems kind of low to me, though.
This pc will still be good for another year or two, and it performs just as well as something with newer hardware.

It runs Crysis on very high and no lag or choppiness. That itself should say something. (hehe)

I'd pay (if I had the cash) in between 800-1000 $.
Because, that actually IS a computer. It has some sexy characteristics (6GB ram is quite a lot).

You might have better luck selling the monitors separately. Most people who would buy a rig like that would already have a good monitor, methinks.

I agree with mister Evil. 700-750 just for the rig, the monitors may as well go as addons.

Yeah, monitors would be additional.

How much do yall think they'd go for?

uh?

yeah I think the reason you guys are willing to pay so much is because you don't know what the hardware is. this is /not/ great RAM, it's clocked 800/667. 4gb of 1333 or1600 would be a thousand times better.

plus mixing clocks like that will probably decrease speeds further.

without monitors I wouldn't pay more than $600-700.

you might be able to rip somebody off though(would probably get more selling it in pieces).

small monitors like that wouldn't go for much..$300 for both. maybe. $200 is the most a smart person would pay.

I cannot tell (personally) the difference between DDR2 and DDR3 when I use a computer. Sure the specs look nice on paper, and if I had the option I would go for DDR3, but my board only supports DDR2 and the RAM more than suits my needs and my gaming.

But yes I agree with you on the monitors.
Also, one of them has 2 USB ports and can rotate/spin 360 degrees and tilt a good 30/35.

I personally wouldn't sell that kind of desktop for a laptop.
But hey it's all opinion, this better be a high-end one.

But yeah, i'd pay 700-900 for the rig, cause i already have an HDMI 90 degree spin 2 usb 1920X1280 monitor.

The laptop would be for college, so I know what I'm getting into.

Just enough to do some light gaming, but more of something to take notes on (why I picked the tm2t*) and something to hold my music.

*i5-470m and 8gb ddr3 ram
