So while scrolling through Methelina's D9 mod thread I found out that we have a Russian sister site. I'm still pretty noobly, so I don't know if this was old news, but some of their modders seem decently talented. I've also seen plenty of references to modders here (weegee, Whitty, Abdul among others) so obviously they like the stuff we have here.

Perhaps some sort of collaboration can be brought about with them. I think it'd be pretty cool to have an intercontinental mod project.

They seem to have an entire sub-forum meant for posting DRL mods, complete with the mod's translated description. Original author's names seem to be given.

Yeah, I found their forum when I saw Areku's Apollocalipse images (which I'm hosting for him) were getting a lot of traffic from Russia.

And yeah, I'd love to get some sharing of mods between us and them.

I don't think the language barrier would be too much of an issue. Google Translate for us English speaking folk would work nicely. From scrolling through the forum a bit, I found that Mad Alex and Methelina are members both here and there so if we need to get some complex wording across we can ask them.

I was a forum administrator for about a year, and providently wrote a rule that says "Only posts in russian AND ENGLISH are allowed".

I signed up without issue. I had to do three captcha's or something, though.

Well I typed in my e-mail and the Captcha and it just kept spinning the verification endlessly. It was pretty obvious it wasn't going to work. I also tried to get into it through uNet but that failed too.

Ooooh, More critique for my mods

It'd really help if the forum was just a simple forum, instead of having all those anti-bot countermeasures and other fancy stuffs, but that's jsut my opinion.

makes me glad I was able to keep the russian-translated copies of the wiki intact, that is a pretty big following

all that effort to convert it to a unicode DB and preserve russian translations was totally worth it and seeing this is so pleasing!!!
