When ever I try loading a new web page on chrome, I get enormous lag, my music hangs and my CPU hits 100% use. Same happens when using Bit torrent. Anyone else got this problem or found a fix? |

I use Chrome and Bittorrent. I'm not having a problem with either. |

herm nerm After some googling I found some other people have the same problem. This usually fixes it for them: "Popular answer I have discovered a couple possible fixes for this problem. The first one listed turned out to be the cause of my problem. Give them a try and let us know if either work for you. TABLET DRIVER/LOW LEVEL MOUSE HOOKS: This problem appears to be connected to "low level mouse hooks" causing problems in Win 7. Click the Start button, type ‘services’ and pick the Services item from the list. Scroll down to the Tablet PC Input Service and double click it. Click Stop, then change the ‘Startup type’ setting to "Disabled". Hit OK. If you run any other applications which change how your mouse functions (e.g. AutoHotKey), also kill those programs. Test to see if the problem has gone away. AUTO DISCOVERYING PROXY: The "auto detect proxy" function of Win 7 may be causing lag for some users. To disable it, go to Wrench->Options->Under the Hood->Change Proxy Settings. Click "LAN settings" and uncheck "automatically detect settings". Additionally click "Settings" (if it’s not grayed out) and uncheck "Automatically detect settings" here too. Hit OK until you get back to the browser. Test to see if the problem has gone away." |

Have you tried running CCleaner? oh and looks like mcafee likes to leave some residue processes. Did you uninstall with their tool or straight from windows? |

Well, I'm running out of ideas. How are your temperatures? Do you get the slow down in other stuff other than internet browsing/torrenting? Do you have windows defender turned on? |

IIRC there was also some very strange background program in windows that caused massive lagg when playing GTA IV, no idea if it could help but all it does is log which keys you press so you'll not need it anyway. googled it: Windows Event Log Turn that of anyway, totally unnecessary. |

Windows event log is already off, interestingly enough. Not sure about temperatures, but My computer was functioning perfectly all through summer. Windows defender is off. |
