Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
http://anti-acta.com/No 'Hurr we are leejuhn' ♥♥♥♥ either. Send a message to your governors and senators, don't make it sound like a whiny pirating brat, make it sound like you are a serious, unpretentious voter who voted them into their position. Go on, if you are using the internet you have an obligation, get to it.

Except that I'm both Canadian and under the age at which one's opinion starts to matter to someone in power.
I got a couple thousand reloads on their Google bomber, though. Good enough.

Re: Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
whitty you are two shakes of your ♥♥♥♥ away from a extended ban
as for the actual ♥♥♥♥ topic of this thread
I wholeheartedly support the idea of doing whatever possible to stop this legislation; most people don't even begin to realize the effect this could have on the entire nature of the internet as a fundamental whole.
However, I cannot support any of these dumb script kiddies taking this as an opportunity to "troll" people when grownups are trying to do politics.
Kudos to Jack for bringing up the issue without any dumb rhetoric and without advocating people do anything stupid.

On that note, either contribute to the topic in a useful and responsible manner or beware moderator judgement. Unlawful conduct (including discussion of blackmail, DDoS, DoS, threats, other Anon ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ry, etc) will not be tolerated because I actually care about getting ♥♥♥♥ done here.

Reloader running, bookmarked, and going to be shared as much as possible when I'm not the only one of my acquaintances awake.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Re: Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
It's funny how this "treaty" is signed by the same governments that want China to her citizens alone and ensure their privacy. That said, I can't honestly believe this will work. The "real pirates" will just find a way, while all other people have to "enjoy the security".
This actually makes me wanna vote for the pirate party, shame I'm not old enough. Although I'm wondering how this will work with Sweden, since they are theoretically making TPB immune to prosecution because it will be hosted from their parlement.

Also, no offence OP, but when has signing an online petition changed anything? I have, however, called both local political parties and received less than spectacular response.

Re: Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
True, pirates will always find a way. look what good mandatory DRM did to assassins creed 2 PC. Not to mention this treaty is the moral equivalent of putting a telescreen in every home.

Re: Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement
If it's even possible to get around any of the ♥♥♥♥ they put in place, it will turn anyone who distributes software that can get around it into a hero of sorts. How many people do you think will just start pirating software just so they can spite the treaty?
