Yo guys. I've just got myself a new PC. It has a 3.1Ghz liquid cooled i7 processor, 8GB RAM, an unholy amount of neon lights and this totes bitchin' 2GB video card. It's also so unbelievably big and heavy that I've nicknamed it "Sledge".

But anyways.

Earlier today, I was playing some Minecraft, when suddenly the game quit and an error message appeared: "Windows has encountered a problem with your hard disk. It is recommended to backup all your files and contact your HDD manufacturer. Avoid using the computer until then." This message popped up once or twice, but no other problems were encountered. The computer is still running perfectly. So DRL, should I panic or is this just some whiny win7 bull****?

Panic mode imo. If this is a new computer you might've gotten a faulty HDD and should return it (if your border-dodging shenanigans allows).

Do the disc-check thingy from in the BIOS before you boot up WIn7.

Hmm. Good option. However, should I send the thing pack to the manufacturer, I know it'll be at least some good three months before I ever see that computer again, due to our lousy undeveloped-country warranty laws. :x So I guess I'll wait a bit longer, see if it works or not.

Did that. It freezes when checking the UDN registry (whatever that is), on entry 39. Does that mean anything to you?

Make sure you back up now though, unless you have nothing of value on it already. If it breaks down you'll be in a world of hurt if you had anything important on it.

Just curious how much did the whole computer cost?

Nooooooooo idea bro.

What I would do is just ignore it until/if you get a bluescreen and have a chance to snapshot the error code and look that up later.

FFFFFFFFFF.

It just BSoD' on me.

Time to go through the small hell that is getting any customer service to work down here. Wish me luck. I just hope that they don't steal my power source this time.

Hmm. Converting to dollars, around three thousand bucks. But I actually paid only fifty bucks for it. Don't worry, it was nothing illegal this time.

:3

It's not that hard, you just need some connections inside the big universities. And a ton of distant relatives (and close relatives too) that work on them. :P

Yo guys. Just writing to say that Sledge is back. Yes, it took exactly two days for the manufacturer to receive my e-mail and immediately send a technician down to my place. Five minutes and one signature later, I had a new HDD. It didn't take three months. I didn't have to talk with engineers from five different companies to explain my problem. I didn't have to fill >9000 forms and, most importantly, the technician didn't bring the wrong part.

<3 you, Alienware.

Areku, I probably have $100 American at home, and I'm willing to pay shipping.
Care to make double your investment? >:3
