Suck it up and let them deal with it. It's their relationship, if they can't make it work then they can't make it work.

That sucks. I'd recommend just waiting it out. Everything will be right in the end.
But if things seem to be going wrong, you might need to intervene. Perhaps you could talk to them and help them through it if it was as traumatizing as it seems?
