Darlos9D, You Were Right.
The first laser pointer so powerful it can be used as a weapon has been released by Wicked Lasers in Hong Kong. It's 1w, and it's so powerful it can blind permanently and instantly, and set body parts on fire. http://www.wickedlasers.com/lasers/Spyd ... 96-37.html I swear to god, this IS Darlos's revolver laser.

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
Lasers are such wicked fun. Anyone else here have access to a laser cutter? Best lab tool hands down. Well... You could have a plasma cutter for steel, but you basically cannot use it on anything less that metal.
Anyway, I have no idea what this laser pointer is for, besides correcting the gene pool. I have a 10mW laser ($5 from china, minor tweaking to the regulator) that is visible in the daytime, and it's solid at night. It's not like you need more power to use it as a pointer.
So, it's a very long range lighter (for things that are legal to light!). Not sure if I need one, but damn it all if I do not WANT one.

If it's really 1W at $200, that's a steal. Not to mention damn dangerous. Enter the serial laser killer XD

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
I have a < 30 Mw laser I picked up for $40.
I can pop balloons with it... After a minute or two.
Damn USA and those stupid < 5Mw laser laws.

What? YOU MEAN I CAN'T BUY THIS BECAUSE I AM A US RESIDENT?
Fffffffuuuuuuuuu-
I would want this for self-protection, honestly. Some dude pulls a switchblade on me, I pull this baby out and make him lol until I set his hair on fire.

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
You just can't import any laser that are higher than 5Mw. You can still somehow get them though. Or mod your existing laser.

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
I learned to mod the laser power regulators off some website, but you are 100% sure to kill the diode faster that way. I gave up after two killed and one damaged and bought from china, and it came in a box claiming to be a cell phone charger. It was technically called a converter, and it DOES convert states of energy I suppose...
I'd want to mount on on my CNC machine and use it for simple laser cutting, or soldering with paste. (hey look I rationalized buying it, that means I should right?)

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
Lol
Apparently, if you point the lazor at a matte surface and look at the dot, you'll still go instantly blind.
So what exactly is the practical use of this?
I also love the handle, looks like a real lightsaber lol
If I were Luke and I had this, I would totally kill Darth Vadar.

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
Huh, I can't even order this :/ When I try to click "Add To Cart", it goes to that Class IV "Laser Hazard Acknowledgment" form but most of the text is whited-out and I can't even scroll down to the bottom to accept the whole thing.
PERHAPS IT IS BECAUSE MY COMPUTER IS AMERIKAN?

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
This is not a good thing. This is a very bad thing. There are way too many tween morons running around with their lasers flashing cars on the motorway as it is, and now they can not only blind the drivers but set fire to their eyebrows. Jesus, in the military, sure, but not in the hands of the public, please. I'm going to be a killjoy here and hope for a swift ban.

Re: Darlos9D, You Were Right.
It's a class 4 laser, which is a controlled technology in most developed countries, so I doubt it's exactly as easy as throwing the thing in your cart and paying for it. As other US residents have said here, the page requires you to get FDA approval before you can order it. The same should apply for other countries.
