I keep getting the BSOD. I installed a new NIC and decided to plug in an ancient IDE HDD. I went to start up Windows, and it freezes when loading my startup programs after I log on. It runs fins in safe mode, but when I try to change the resolution to something reasonable (1440x900) it BSODs.
Im running Win7 Ultimate 64Bit.

Does it still BSoD when you take out the new components?

It's probably from that crappy operating system you "made."

Problems as of late sounds very much like bad memory or a bad Windows install. Run a memory test, I'm 80% sure Windows 7 installs one when it installs. I know I have one from when I stuck the RC in.

The install is perfect, I've had it since September with no issues whatsoever.
It all started when I plugged in the ancient IDE HDD.

How do I run the memory test? I know Win7 has one, I just don't know where it is.

The new NIC or my OS?

Post subject:  Re: BSOD

Both or either.

The issue is probably your "ancient IDE HDD." Can't write memory to swap because of a faulty drive. Blamo, BSOD because memory can't be written to disk and processes blocked.
