I have an Nvidia 9600 GT and an Asus VW193T and my screen will occasionally randomly turn black for about a second.
It occurs 100% of the time when attempting to check the scoreboard via tab in Battlefield Heroes and greatly increases in frequency when playing Paper Moon.
Specs:
Windows XP Proffessional, SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 (2.8GHz)
2x1GB Ram, Kingston, 800MHz DDR2
Nvidia EN9600GT, Black Pearl Edition (Asus), 512MB DDR3, 700MHz (Latest drivers installed)
Asus VW193T, 19", 5ms

You try and over clock it or use nvidia's auto-tune thing?

Nope.
Apparently the Black Pearl edition thing had something about it being overclocked out of the box or something, but I haven't touched anything.

It's most likely the over clocking. My new video card would do the same after I tried to overclock it, turned it down some and it works perfect now.

Okay. I'll try setting it to the default clock speed then.
EDIT: Setting it to optimal speeds in the NVIDIA Control Panel appears to have worked.

What do you know, setting thingd to what they are supposed to run at makes them run better.
Just a 8600GTS for me. I need to upgrade.

His edition came OC'd out of the box. You have to remember, the more you (or the factory) OC something, the cooler it has to be kept to not get errors, artifacts, and etc. You could probably spend about a half hour finding the perfect balance between performance and artifactin. Or, you could drag every slider to the right, take off the side of your case, and stick a box fan there, like I did.

I know it came OC'd. And when the factory first got them, they weren't OC'd. Therefore, they are originally meant to be run not Overclocked. However, they are very much capable of doing so.
