So, I don't know what causes it but it started happening awhile ago and only sometimes when windows starts up. It doesn't seem to have any adverse affect on my PC but it's annoying me on an epic scale.

Check your run-on-start things. It's probably some driver's accompanying program that isn't disappearing as it should. |

I doubt it's normal and if it is indeed a driver how should I rectify this problem? |

Figure out what program it is, if need be with something like process explorer, and decide whether you need it or not. If you do, can't really help you, if not, try uninstalling it or removing it from your startup queue. |

Also, it has the potential to be a bad process, like some variety of malware. Consider using scanning tools like AVG or Spybot Search & Destroy. |

I don't know if it's enough but I checked the processes running myself and nothing seems to be there that shouldn't also I used eset nod32. Edit: I did a registry scan and repair and that seems to have solved my problem. |
