Post Upgrayedd
I'm upgrading my video card soon, I am currently using a Nvidia 8600GT, and I've been looking at the 9800GTX, and also looking at Palit brand "super cards", but am unsure of which card is best for the money. I'm obviously not limiting myself to those two cards, but so far those have been what I've looked at and will be my default.

My current price range is from $0-$150 and am looking to purchase the best card for the money, so, that being said, if you know of a card that is the best the best the best and in or close to my price range (Without Mail-in rebates), let me know.

9800 more like 8900. 9800 is just the 8800 with a tiny bit of improvement. 4 series outperforms 8 and 9 series without question. If you qq about drivers I'll stab you.

♥♥♥♥♥♥s cry about having heard one time back in 2001 that ATI's drivers suck and that is an outdated opinion that people won't let go of for some ♥♥♥♥ reason.

Drivers are only a big deal if you're on a Linux system, cause Intel/nVidia hates Linux. Honestly, theres no major difference between the cards. Its just like Tucker said, it's just ingrained personal preference.

Actually I've never had a problem with nVidia/Linux drivers, but I had a popular card and distro, so maybe it's just stuff like Arch that's a ♥♥♥♥♥.

The GTX sounds like you should take it, but consider the ATI 4850, its $100 and pretty good. (not quite as good as the GTX) I'd compare specs on tomshardware.com and buy whatever you are planning to buy on newegg.com.

After doin what MLC said, I found that the card Ophanim linked me is indeed the most superior card for my price range, and damn near the most superior card. I appreciate the feedback and am awaiting my new video card.
