Editing the desktop wallpaper at will.
What I would like to find is a program that would allow me to write little notes and such on my desktop on the fly, with a hotkey or other trigger. Like a whiteboard that I could toggle. Must be persistent notes that will stay in between restarts.
Screenshot and use as wallpaper go ♥♥♥♥ yourself.

Like paint overlay? Because if you just need to make text notes, this might be your fix. Painting... I could only find this thing, which might just take a screenshot and let you paint on it.

Haha, I said that because W7 has a nice little note widget. Probably not worth reinstalling Windoze for, but its worth considering if you ever have to reinstall. : ]

I saw what Duh wrote, and i suggest you can use Stickies. Just like the first program suggested. I use it and its awesome. You can save messages to a file, and backup all stickies for a reformat. http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/index.html

Screenshot and use as wallpaper go ♥♥♥♥ yourself. Would also suggest using something like iGoogle. Not quite the same thing, since you have to load a website, but it has a perfectly good to-do/notes widgit. Also, why not just buy a white board. You're going to college anyway. You'll need one.
