OH MY DATA, there is currently a tornado sweeping through my county. Not even joking here, see?
I live in Rochester, not the afflicted Brockport, but another storm is coming, this one looks more likely to actually hit Rochester.
Well, my course of action is clear. :machine: ;-)

Silly tornado, what are you doing, get back here in Kansas where you belong.

Best of luck to you with that.

If it's actually coming toward you, get in the basement, or if you have none, a closet near the middle of the house with the most protection. Get away from the windows, if nothing else. Having something sturdy over your head to protect from falling debris is also a good idea.

Personally I've never bothered because all Tornados I've seen haven't been very close or incoming, but don't let the unlikelihood of it passing over you make you ignore it. This very house I sit in was constructed mostly with recycled tornado debris from the house it replaced.

Obviously the tornado wants to see how the eastern US is like. Seriously though, you should be careful and get under some cover, tornadoes can be unpredictable. It could veer off course and go somewhere else (hopefully it goes somewhere where no damage can be caused) or just simply disappear.

i've survived 3 tornadoes here in ohio. 1 went right down the street I was on, tearing up trees and power lines. noone's house was touched, it followed the street, including a 90 degree turn.

Tornadoes are weird, like the earth, mostly harmless. now if it smacks into your house your pretty much dead. get to the basement and party there, away from the windows.

A ninety degree turn? Wow, I guess it was following the airflow.

Board up the windows, I say.
Not that I have any experience, living in California.

Wording making it sound waaay too significant, seeing as they ended up actually posing no threat to you.
I'm a hurricane Katrina survivor. I was lucky and it didn't hit me hurr hurr.

Living in a bunker would be best. Oh wait, practicality. I suggest you not drastically board up your windows, and rather just keep yourself updated and go in the basement if there's a chance it will hit you before you check again. Boarding them up might just add nails and massive splinters to go with the broken glass flying around anyway.

Good to hear, HK. I wouldn't wish a tornadoing on my worst enemy.
Maybe I would if I had worse enemies. But I'd be a ♥♥♥hole for it.

A lock would be unnecessary, in my opinion, Tornados in general could be further discussed, or even disasters in general.

This was just an exaggeration as an example of how miles' wording on his 'tornado survival' was a overblown.

Tornado, sweet!
I wish we had some of that action here... It would be harmlessly awesome. Cause like... 95% of buildings/houses here are reinforced concrete... >____>'
All we have is 122mm Grad missiles raining down from time to time, and that's no fun. :(

Yeah, considering your situation, I guess tornadoes would be a desirable choice. Not where I live, though. With all the hailstorms, lightning storms, occasional snowstorm, sunshine of 42 celsius degrees, rain that falls horizontally and sometimes a *small* earthquake, I think a single tornado would mean the end of human civilization for us. :???:
