From Polygons to Paint

The following is made in blender, but I'm going for a painted feel. This was done with a neat trick involving motion blur and displacement and procedural bumpmaps which cycle each frame, and blender mixes the in-between frames to create this effect.

Looks REALLY nice.
But if you want to give you a medal or something, you'll have to make a little animation, more that just a spinning wheel kicking around some circus balls.

What do you mean? Look at the roller coaster! Perhaps you didn't see it without a thumbnail..

If that's not enough,

You can see it right?

Umm....
Crap, I promised a medal.
I don't have one, but nice job, probably better than I or most people on this forum will ever do.

Thanks :) It's all made in blender.

Here's something really random..

And here's a cross section of my house in a most bizarre fashion..

There's a spiral staircase in there, I swear.

Grate rendering and some ace modeling.

D'you do this all for fun? There's some seriously good stuff in there, I'd consider doing work on something professional.

There is a modifiable game called Supreme Commander.
It is not quite as easy as Cortex Command, but yo can find someone with an idea and coding ability.

You make the graphics in blender.

Interested?

I love your legos. Did you use the parts the crazy CAD people made?

Hell no! I made everything, I'm sort of a purist :P And let me tell you, that silver piece at the bottom in the last lego picture with the diagonal sideways part was really hard to make, because it also had to match with the ground knobs in the gaps.

I have coding ability. Well, I make flash applets and stuff, like this:

http://shnitzelkiller.deviantart.com/ar ... -122645473

But then, actionscript 3 is the only language I can do anything good with.
Anyway, I'll see about what this game is. A 3d moddable game sounds fun, like crysis.

EDIT: Ohh, so it's one of those build up a base and command units games, with better graphics than the others I know, although still horrible by today's standards (but looks good). And it's moddable? Cool! Can I get more info on modding? (by PM, since it's kind of unrelated).

Back on topic, here's a particle physics and postpro test which ended up looking kinda trippy:

http://www.noeckel.com/blender12.html (scroll to the bottom, the top one is really old and sucks ass)

Kudos, getting the knobs to be right must've been tweak hell.

I have a ruler :> (and can multiply things by 4/3 in my head (because the width of a standard square brick is exactly 4/3 of its height, ignoring the knobs, as I've measured.) )

Shnitzel, I hope you don't mind, but I hotlinked one of your images
to try and explain what a 3d Portal could look like on another forum.

By the way, you are really good at this stuff.

Thanks, but it's a cylindrical cross section, not a sphere.

Eh, it's close enough.

Also, I just finished examining your complete works, and I have to say, I'm impressed.

That's some detailed stuff you have going on.
Especially with those chairs, and the rendering is always superb.

Good job.
