Would it be worth my time and energy to fix it myself (I have the tutorials and tools), or should I just go and buy a refurbished one (an extra $50 if ebay is to be believed)? Before you ask, yes I have a 360 and it works for most of my games, but the ones the 360 does not support are the very games I wanted to play when I bought the thing.

I'm not afraid of bricking it because, frankly, it's already bricked. Warranty's already years out of date. I'm not worried about being banned from Live because I don't play on it and don't plan to.

Is there anything else that might give me pause from doing it some weekend?
