I know a lot of people on DRL use filefront in some way, so I just thought you should all know: FILEFRONT IS SHUTTING DOWN More info here. |

WTF!!?!??!?! This is NOT GOOD, now things that I legitmately find useful are closing down. This sucks big time....Actually I'm not that surprised, I kind of expected stuff like this to happen but still, I mean FILEFRONT!? I've always uploaded and gotten all my small files from there... With some luck, this won't turn into a domino effect of sites closing down..

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Why couldn't one of the bad ones, like fileplanet have died instead? I always got good speeds from this place, with them gone, it's back to 12kb/sec or "borrowing" accounts for premium download sites. |

Filefront's amazing download rates truly were amazing, I normally got 1.0-1.5mb/s from there. WHERE THE ♥♥♥♥ DO WE GO FOR HALO AND BATTLEFIELD MODS NOW?! |

Admittedly I was never a fuge han of FileFront, but it was damned useful at times. This sucks. Good job posting it here though, as it'd be useful to know and I probably wouldn't have noticed. |

This is the worst news I've ever heard since 7 years ago when I found out I was going to get a baby sister. FileFront is, and soon will be was, in my opinion the best file hosting site in the history of the internet. Well, time to put my external 375 gig hard drive to use. |

Okay. Why don't they just put up some adds. Adds = income, income = site stays up. its not that hard. Or just add some sort of preimum accounts or even a "Support FileFront" button. or did they just go "we can't do it as is, we quit" |

They do have Ads, they are shutting down because of "the current economic conditions", implying that maybe not enough advertising companies want to pay them money this year, meaning that they can't afford to continue to run the site. As for messing around with premium accounts, what could you offer in a premium account that would actually make people want to sign up without taking things away from the free users, harming the overall client base? They're not fileplanet... |
